The American Lawyer recently published an article on Nextlaw Labs’ first portfolio company, ROSS Intelligence, highlighting the company’s leadership in bringing artificial intelligence to the legal industry. John Fernandez, was tapped for insight on Baker & Hostetler’s move to be the first law firm to license ROSS for bankruptcy matters, congratulating ROSS for “hitting this important milestone,” and noting that Dentons is in the midst of an active ROSS pilot initiative. Dan Jansen added that Dentons is “definitely interested” in licensing ROSS as a paying customer, but didn’t see an advantage in being first, saying, “Everybody moves at their own pace… we don’t see it as a race.” CEO and co-founder of ROSS Intelligence Andrew Arruda highlighted the company’s plans to expand ROSS’ application to other practice areas including criminal, tax, employment and intellectual property, via an aggressive roadmap.
